Fly Away Field Agility Training
Hi, and welcome to my stockdog training page. Please feel free to
contact me if you have any questions.
My training philosophies are geared toward teaching the dog and handler to read livestock, work as a team, and to teach the dog how to not only read livestock but to control the livestock as well, not to follow livestock around a course. Dogs should be able to control their stock not only in an arena type setting but also in larger areas. Each dog and handler team are treated as individuals and are taught accordingly.
I have been training herding dogs for the past twenty years. I have 5 ASCA WTCHís, 3 AHBA HTCHîs and 7 AKC Advanced dogs. My Aussies and I have made it to the ASCA National Stockdog Finals and have placed in the top ten. They also have many High in Trials and High Combined in Trials.
I have put titles (Started through Advanced, WTCHís and HTCHís) on many different breeds of dogs including Aussies, GSD's, Belgian Tervs, and other breeds.
Here are a few of the other breeds I have trained Border Collies, Poodles, Rottweilers, Schnauzers, Bouviers, English Shepherds, Samoyeds, Bernese Mt Dogs, Corgi's, Shelties, Norwegian Buhund, Greater Swiss Mt. Dogs, Bearded Collies, Belgian Tervs , Belgian Shepherds, Shiloh Shepherd, Entlebucher Sennenhund, Briard, Bergamasco, Beauceron, Appenzeller Sennenhund, Boxer, Soft-coated Wheaten Terrier, and mixed breeds.
My students and I have titled dogs in all three venues: AKC, ASCA and AHBA with many High in Trials and high Combined.
I have been a judge for the AHBA for the past fifteen years. For the past fifteen years I have been doing clinics, seminars and lessons on the East Coast. Twelve years ago, I purchased my own field where I keep both sheep and ducks and regularly host clinics and lessons and trials.
I work with all listed herding breeds, mixes and their people. I host at least 2-3 clinics a year. There are also agility and breed clubs that host clinics as they are great fund raisers for the clubs. Fly Away Field hosts ASCA, and AHBA trials 3-4 times per year.
Contact me for info on fund raising ideas!
My facility consists of a 5 acre field, a 7 acre field, a 120' by 225' arena, 100' round pen, chutes, pens, large and small barn areas. Stock - ducks, sheep, year round, and cattle ( April - October)

I have a nice mixture of
sheep, from very dog-broke to quite light. Because I know my
sheep very well, I can make whatever combination your dog needs for
training.
